The Tampa Bay Race, which took second place in the American League spectator mobilization rankings last season, announced an unconventional admission price for the 2023 season.
Citing the team’s announcement on the 8th (Korean time), the’Tampa Bay Times’ reported that the race for the 2023 season had issued a ticket for $10 (12,557 won).
This price applies to the party deck in the left outfield of Tropicana Field, the home stadium, and some lower-level spectator seats.
At least 1,000 tickets will be issued for each game, and these tickets have restrictions on resale and are non-transferable.
This is to prevent resellers from buying these tickets and selling them to fans at high prices. Some technical measures were also added for this.
The reason Tampa Bay offered such an unconventional price is because it desperately needs to mobilize spectators.
Tampa Bay drew 1,128,127 spectators last season, ranking 14th out of 15 American League teams.
This is the lowest record since 2003, except for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, when no spectators or limited spectators entered in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) pandemic.
The average spectator per game was 13,927, which was the smallest number after Miami and Oakland among all 30 major league teams. 메이저놀이터
Although it is based in a large market called Tampa Bay, several factors such as the location of St. Petersburg, the city where the home stadium is located, and the old home stadium are cutting off the positive factors of advancing to the postseason for 4 consecutive years. Currently, they are promoting the construction of a new soccer field.
“We want as many people as possible to come and watch our team play,” said Rays chief business officer Bill Walsh. We are always looking for ways to make this possible.”
