The San Diego Padres’ Ha-Sung Kim hit a home run. But the team couldn’t pull out of the losing streak.
Kim Ha-seong started at first base and batted second against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S., on Sunday (July 17). Went 2-for-5 on the day with a double, a home run, one RBI and two runs scored. Extended his hitting streak to 13 games.

He also failed to get on base in his third at-bat. With one out in the fifth inning, Kim took a 95.2-mph sinker from Wheeler. He made a sharp contact but couldn’t get the ball out of the outfield, as it was caught on a line drive by the third baseman.
In his fourth at-bat of the eighth inning, he doubled. With the bases loaded, Kim took advantage of a 98.3-mph slider from reliever Gregory Soto. In the 12th inning, Kim came up to bat once more. With runners on second and third, Kim hit a 98.5 mph fastball from Jeff Hoffman, but it was caught in a double play. San Diego was unable to finish the game and eventually fell to their knees in the bottom of the 12th inning.
