The ‘Brazilian Legend’ who played with Hwang In-beom… Contract terminated in 6 months

Marcelo has terminated his contract with Olympiacos. Looking forward to finding a new team.

Olympiacos officially announced that it had terminated the contract with Marcelo through the club website on the 19th (Korean time). Now that Marcelo has obtained free agent status, he can negotiate with any team he wants.

Marcelo joined Real Madrid in January 2007 from prestigious Brazilian club Fluminense. He has since established himself as one of the best left-backs in the world in the 2010s, with a stellar performance for over a decade. Marcelo has lifted more than 20 championship trophies, including six Spanish La Liga titles and five European Champions League titles, while wearing a Real Madrid uniform.

Marcelo, who played 546 matches for Real, took on a new challenge last summer. As he reached the age of mid-thirties, his skills decreased, and his position naturally narrowed. Last season, he played only 12 La Liga games (522 minutes in total). Eventually, after accompanying Real, he transferred to Olympiacos in the form of a free agent (FA).

Olympiacos is the team where Hwang In-beom and Hwang Ui-jo played until recently. Marcelo has a contract with Olympiacos until the summer of 2023. It is a one-year short-term contract with an option for a one-year extension. However, Marcelo has not played in many games this season. He only made 5 Greek League appearances. He eventually said he would leave Olympiacos after six months.

Now, with much attention being paid to Marcelo’s next destination, Spain’s ‘As’ said, “Currently, according to local Greek media news, the specific team name has not been revealed, but Marcelo has received an offer that is too good to refuse. 메이저놀이터 Olympiacos leaves from Marcelo I heard that he wanted to, and I did not block his path.”

Marcelo was linked to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr in late January. Al Nasr recently signed Cristiano Ronaldo. Marcelo and Ronaldo showed excellent ‘chemistry’ at Real Madrid. When Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009, the collaboration between the two players began. Nine years later, when Ronaldo left for Juventus, they could not play together.

At the time, Brazilian media ‘UOL’ reported, “Al Nasr is closely monitoring Marcelo’s situation. Marcelo’s contract with Olympiacos ends this summer. He will not renew his contract and may leave within January.” .
