Song Min-kyu ran, ran, ran, and didn’t miss his chance to lead Jeonbuk to victory.
Jeonbuk Hyundai won 1-0 against Daegu FC in the 17th round of the Hana One Q K League 1 2023 on Sunday at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
With the win, Jeonbuk tied Daegu with 24 points from seven wins, three draws and seven losses, but moved up the standings due to their superior goal difference.
Song Min-gyu, who was recently accepted to Gimcheon Commerce, has also been named to the national under-24 team, which will play two friendlies against the Chinese Asian Games team on Sept. 15 and 19.
The decision was made after consultation between the national soccer team coach Jürgen Klinsmann and the Asian Games coach Hwang Sun-hong. Song Min-kyu, who is preparing for military service, joined the Asian Games squad instead of the national team for his last chance to serve as an alternate.
Playing on the left side of the three-man defense, Song played an active defensive role. He tried to fill the gap left by Kim Jin-soo’s aggressive overlapping and forward movement. In the first half, Song saw a lot of action and tried to create threatening situations when Daegu sat deep. 스포츠토토

Even after the goal, Song continued to play tirelessly. He moved from the back to the front and had a huge impact on the entirety of Jeonbuk’s performance.
After fulfilling his role, Song was replaced by Meng Sung-woong in the 32nd minute of the second half. His performance helped Jeonbuk to a thrilling win and extend their winning streak.
