In 2023, another new team joins the K-League. Chungcheongbuk-do Cheongju FC covers Chungcheongbuk-do, centering on Cheongju, the capital city of Chungcheongbuk-do.
Chungbuk Cheongju FC, which joined Cheonan City FC as the youngest team this season, is a club that is more than 20 years old if you go back in history. This is because it is based on the Cheongju Solveig soccer team that existed from 2002 to 2008. From 2009, the name was changed to Cheongju Jikji FC, and it was active until 2013, and the following year, it was transformed into Chungbuk Cheongju FC again. From 2015 to last year, it continued its existence under the name Cheongju FC.
However, they all stayed at the amateur level, and this is the first time they have turned professional in earnest and competed against top teams. Starting the new season in the K-League 2 (Part 2), Chungbuk Cheongju FC has the long-cherished wish of 1.6 million Chungcheongbuk-do residents and 850,000 Cheongju citizens, as well as a blueprint to create a new soccer boom in the Chungbuk region, which was barren for professional football. An experienced veteran from the Chungcheong region, Choi Yoon-gyeom, was appointed as coach, and K-League Ryu Won-woo and Malaysian national team Raj were recruited to raise expectations.
Can Chungbuk Cheongju FC create a new wind in the K-League? I met with Kim Hyeon-joo, the head of Chungbuk Cheongju FC, and heard his story. it’s the 2nd one.
“Our Chungbuk Cheongju is a city in the Chungbuk area, but there are many invisible enthusiastic fans. It is an industrial area and there are many workers. Although we are a new club, we have a role model club. It is Leicester City in England. This team is now in the lower leagues. It became a team that could go up to the 1st division and even win the title.
Local governments, local businesses, small businesses and clubs will work hard to play football for the fans. And through transparent management, responsible management, and rational management that can have self-sufficiency, we are trying to achieve results by fostering players that create a synergistic effect. Our goal for this season is to place 9th, but we are trying to build a system that can go all the way to the playoffs. I plan to push forward with a certain goal that the coaching staff, the office, and the fans can fuse.”
Professional soccer teams actually have problems with management and making a surplus structure. These are very difficult situations, but there are many good companies in Cheongju in this regard. There are Hynix and others. Do you have any other sponsorship plans besides those companies?
“As I said earlier, you said that our club has self-sufficiency. 먹튀검증 The part of self-sufficiency is now becoming the first role model in Korea with a system like this, a consortium of local governments and companies in Japan. There is a plan to sell tickets. For sub or main, we plan to promote a lot of promotional marketing that we can do together through signing MOUs with large local companies.”
“In addition, we have done some promotion and marketing with many companies in this region, such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chungbuk Economic Forum, Smart Management Forum, and Ohsung Club. So, we have formed the same consensus. Then, we held a ppt briefing with all functional groups. , In other words, the synergy effect obtained in our region through professional football, such as activation of various distribution cultures and family culture, has been promoting a cheering culture in which residents of the city and city can become one through communication.”
