Saudi Arabia is targeting Marquinhos (29, Paris Saint-Germain) this time around. However, it is safe to say that there is virtually no chance of a transfer.
French publication L’Equipe reported on Monday (June 29), “Marquinhos is being courted by the Saudis. Several Saudi clubs have tried to convince him to join them in recent days, but PSG have no intention of parting ways with him,” the publication reported.
“The Saudi offense is unrelenting. After luring Kylian Mbappe and Marco Verratti, they have tried to convince Marquinhos to join their ranks, but discussions with PSG have not even begun. Marquinhos is not interested in a Saudi adventure, at least for now, and plans to stay at PSG. PSG certainly have no intention of parting ways with Marquinhos, who has extended his contract until 2028.”
Brazilian center-back Marquinhos joined PSG in the summer of 2013 for a fee of €31.4 million after spells with Corinthians and AS Roma.
Now in his 10th season with the club, Marquinhos has been a consistent part of the core. He was considered an essential part of PSG’s aggressive style, providing a defensive centerpiece. It’s safe to say that he has all the skills you need in a center back: tackling, aerial balls, man-marking, and build-up.
Marquinhos, who is approaching his 30s, signed a new contract in May. It’s a five-year deal that runs through June 2028. “I’m happy to sign and I’m very proud of it. It’s a very special moment for me. PSG has always shown me trust. I have a lot of trust in this club too. I’m sure we will achieve great things together in the future.” 스포츠토토
Shortly after re-signing, the Saudi offer arrived. The Saudis have been on a very aggressive recruitment drive this summer. PSG was not exempt from their radar. They have recently targeted Mbappe and Verratti. They’ve also reached out to Marquinhos. According to transfer market expert Rudi Galletti, it turns out to be Al-Nasr.
However, it”s safe to say that he”s not likely to leave, at least not this summer. L’Equipe insists that both PSG and Marquinhos have no intention of parting ways. Even if PSG were to add Milan Skriniar and Luca Hernandez this transfer window, it would be insane to let go of their captain and centerpiece. Marquinhos will stay with PSG until the 2023-24 season.
