Man City treble defender helps Kim Min-jae near move to Munich

German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are looking to bolster their squad in their quest to win the UEFA Champions League next season.

According to Sky Sports Germany, the Bavarians are close to signing Manchester City defender Kyle Walker.

Walker has one year left on his contract with City and is out of contract.

The Bavarians have quickly made contact with Walker, with Sky Sports Germany reporting that “Thomas Tuchel could convince Walker to join Bayern Munich”. 토토사이트

Walker, who plays right-back for Manchester City, can also play center-back.

With Tuchel’s preference for three at the back, Walker’s ability to play center-back and right-back could be a good fit for him next season.

Since joining Manchester City in the 2017-18 season, Walker has made 165 Premier League appearances for the club, winning five Premier League titles (2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23), two FA Cups (2018-19, 2022-23), and one Champions League title (2022-23).

However, with his contract expiring in a year’s time, his playing time has dwindled in favor of the likes of Manuel Akanji. He even lost his starting spot to Akanji in the Champions League final to Inter Milan.

“Bayern Munich are close to signing Kim Min-jae to a five-year contract,” reports transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano. Kim Min-jae is also one of the fastest center backs. The existing defenders, such as Dayot Upamecano, also have a solid physique and excellent running. For Bayern Munich, having a fast, athletic backline would eliminate the threat from behind and give their attack a boost.

After winning the club’s sixth treble in the 2019-20 season, Bayern Munich were knocked out in the quarterfinals by Manchester City this season.

After parting ways with Julian Nagelsmann midway through last season and transitioning to Tuchel, the Bavarians will be aiming to make progress in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season, their first under Tuchel.
