“Liverpool’s present and future,” says the 22-year-old, who has been linked with a £99.5million move to Manchester United

“He is the present and the future of Liverpool.”

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has expressed his immense satisfaction with Dominik Soboslaj, 22, who joined the club in a £60.2 million deal, even before his arrival.

Soboslaj, who has been a mainstay for Leipzig and the Hungarian national team, was snapped up by Liverpool after Leipzig activated his release clause. He signed a five-year contract with the Reds and was given the number eight shirt, which was worn by legend Steven Gerrard. The addition of Soboslaj to Alexis Sanchez from Brighton gives the Reds a major upgrade in midfield.

Klopp had a smile on his face. “The first thing I have to say is welcome to Liverpool,” Klopp told the club’s official website. “It’s clear from the clubs he’s been at, the leagues he’s been in, that he’s already got a great football education. Our responsibility is to develop further with him as part of the Liverpool family. Sobosler’s arrival is very good news. I am very grateful to everyone at the club for making this happen. This is a signing for our present and our future.” 안전사이트

Klopp had already been impressed by Sobosler in the 2019-2020 season. As a teenager with Salzburg, Sobosler faced Liverpool in the Champions League group stage. He put in an impressive performance at Anfield. “Everyone who watched that game would have recognized that Sobosler was an exciting prospect,” Klopp said. He was a teenager at the time, and then he moved to Leipzig and did really well in the Bundesliga and with the Hungarian national team. It’s not easy to become a national team captain at such a young age.”

Klopp concluded: “He is still a young player. There will be a lot of development in the future. We all need to be patient and give him time to show his talent in our team. The positive thing is that we have supporters who understand this process. I know they are as excited as we are. They will help us create the conditions for Sobosler to grow.”
