Even MLB was surprised by the 53-year-old’s fireworks, Koo Dae-seong said to 2K “Amazing!”

The American Major League was also surprised by the 53-year-old pitcher’s fireworks.

A welcome face appeared on the official social media account of Major League Baseball in the United States. Were they active major leaguers such as Kim Ha-seong and Choi Ji-man? It wasn’t. The 53-year-old Koo Dae-sung, who has left the US stage for 18 years, illuminated the fireworks of the Australian Baseball League.

On the 19th (Korean time), Koo Dae-sung pitched as the fourth pitcher in the Australian Professional Baseball League (ABL) match against the Adelaide Giants held in Adelaide, Australia, and showed off a scoreless pitch in one inning.  스포츠토토

On this day, Koo Dae-seong struck out Rickson Wingrove as the first hitter, and then struck out the shortstop grounder and the second strikeout, completely blocking the first inning. Even at the age of well over 50, the class was still the same.

The US Major League Baseball was also surprised by this. On the 21st (Korean time), the official US Major League SNS account posted a video of Koo Dae-sung striking out in the Australian Baseball League and said, “It’s amazing. Even at the age of 53, Koo Dae-seong is still able to block batters well.”

After retiring from the KBO league in 2010, Koo Dae-seong moved to the Australian league and continued his career until the 2014-2015 season. Afterwards, with the launch of Geelong Korea in the 2018-2019 season, Koo Dae-seong, who was appointed as the first coach, made a surprise appearance in a match against the Brisbane Bandit in January 2019, blocking one inning with no runs.

Two years later, Koo Dae-sung showed off his class by registering as a surprise entry in the Geelong Korea entry ahead of the last series of the 2022-2023 season and even throwing a return pitch on the 19th. With this start, Koo Dae-seong became the oldest pitcher in the Australian League, surpassing Chris Oxspring (45), who is both a coach and a player for the Sydney Blue Sox.

Koo Dae-seong also pitched against Adelaide on the 20th and continued fighting. In one inning he gave up one hit and two walks, giving up two runs. His earned run did not go up because it was a run due to a defensive mistake.
