Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC will host Suwon Samseong in a K League 1 Round 26 match at Jeonju World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Jeonbuk extended its home winning streak to nine matches after Park Jae-yong’s first goal and Han Kyowon’s wedge in the league match against Incheon United on Nov. 6.
With seven consecutive league home wins, excluding two FA Cup matches, Jeonbuk is one step closer to tying the K League 1 (2013-) record for the longest home winning streak.
The record for the longest home winning streak in the K League 1 is eight, which Jeonbuk has achieved twice (April 16, 2016-July 30, 2016 and August 11, 2018) and Seoul once (April 20, 2013-August 15, 2013) since the 2013 season.
If Jeonbuk wins its upcoming match against Suwon to set a new record for the longest home winning streak, it will become the only K League club to win eight consecutive league home matches three times.
Jeonbuk has faced Suwon twice in the league this season, with one win and one draw.
They drew 1-1 at home in March and won 3-0 on the road in May.
Jeonbuk has been integrating players from the transfer market into the team, so they used a rotation in their last league game against Incheon to keep their squad fresh. 메이저놀이터
Suwon, on the other hand, have shown signs of rebounding after escaping the bottom of the table on the back of a recent winning streak, but they travel to Jeonju having lost their previous match against Suwon FC.
“The biggest reason for the home winning streak is the power of the fans,” said Petrescu. “It is the result of the fans’ desire to see Jeonbuk win and the players’ will to give the fans a victory. We will win this game for the fans as well.”
Meanwhile, the game will be played on Jinnan Day. Jeon Chun-sung will be inducted as an honorary ambassador, and a red ginseng jelly tasting corner will be held before the game, and red ginseng sets will be presented to fans at halftime.
