Celtic lose 4-6 to J-League’s Yokohama F-Marinos in preseason match…Yang Hyun-joon and Kwon Hyuk-kyu set to join the squad

Celtic, with Oh Hyun-kyu coming off the bench, lost their first preseason game after a hard-fought battle against a J-League club.

The Hoops fell 4-6 in their preseason match against the Yokohama F-Marinos at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Japan, on Sept. 19. Celtic’s Oh Hyun-gyu came off the bench in the 22nd minute of the game and played about 30 minutes, but was unable to find the back of the net.

Against Yokohama, Celtic conceded an early goal to Lopez in the fifth minute. Celtic fought back and Maeda equalized just over a minute later. Maeda then scored the game-winner in the 21st minute to turn the tide. Yokohama pulled a goal back in the 23rd minute through Mizunuma, but Celtic’s Maeda completed his hat-trick in the 42nd minute to put Celtic back in front.

After going into halftime with the lead, Celtic collapsed in the second half, conceding four goals. Yokohama tied the game once again 14 minutes into the second half with a goal from Lopez, before Saneto put the game out of reach in the 21st minute. Yokohama drove a wedge into the game at the start of the second half when substitute Miyauchi scored back-to-back goals in the 40th and 43rd minutes. Celtic scored a late consolation goal through Turnbull in stoppage time, but were unable to make an impact on the game and the match ended in favor of Yokohama. 메이저놀이터

Celtic, who are on a pre-season tour of Japan, return to action on Sept. 22 when they host Gamba Osaka. Celtic, who had planned to visit South Korea during the pre-season ahead of the 2023-24 season, will face Hwang Hee-chan’s club Wolverhampton in Ireland on Sept. 29.

Yang Hyun-joon, who confirmed his move to Celtic, left for England on the 19th. Kwon Hyuk-kyu will also travel with Yang to finalize the process of joining Celtic. With Oh on board, Celtic will have three South Korean players in the 2023-24 season. Celtic will play their final preseason game against Athletic Bilbao on June 1 before opening the 2023-24 Scottish Premiership against Ross County on June 5.
