Carlos Correa decided not to attend WBC

Correa is out of the WBC.

MLB.com, the official homepage of Major League Baseball, announced on February 7 (Korean time) that Carlos Correa (MIN) will not participate in the World Baseball Classic (WBC).

According to MLB.com, the Minnesota club announced that Correa was not participating in the WBC. This is because the second child is scheduled to be born in March, when the WBC will be held. Correa was expected to play a big role in the Puerto Rico national team this year as well as in 2017, but we can’t see him in this tournament.

The Minnesota club said that Correa’s decision not to attend this time was entirely due to ‘family circumstances’ and had nothing to do with health problems. Correa’s health-related issues were repeatedly mentioned during the FA contract process this winter, but it seems that there is no problem right now. 메이저사이트

According to MLB.com, Correa’s wife, Daniela, is due to give birth on March 12. Correa has already named his second son ‘Kenzo’. The Puerto Rico national team will play Group D from the 12th to the 15th. When participating in the competition, Correa cannot be present during the birth of his wife.

Although the preliminary schedule overlaps with the birth date, she was able to participate in the tournament where the quarterfinals start on the 16th. MLB.com said, “Correa found a way to participate in the tournament until the end, but after consulting with the club, he decided not to participate in this WBC.”
